President Lee Myung-bak congratulated Barack Obama on his inauguration as the 44th President of the United States on Tuesday (Jan. 20), Cheong Wa Dae said.
President Lee expressed the hopes in his congratulatory message that the United States will take the lead in efforts for global peace and prosperity under the new leadership, according to Cheong Wa Dae.
President Lee also said that he would like to strengthen Korea-U.S. relations with the new President, who has been emphasizing collaboration with U.S. allies, Cheong Wa Dae said.
